Josiah (Joseph) Timmis

Josiah, known as Joseph, was born in 1773 in Keele and his baptism took place there on July 18th, 1773.¹

Joseph's father was Richard Timmis and his mother was Mary Hall. His paternal grandparents were John Timmis and Elizabeth Hollins. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, John, Richard, Ann, Mary and Rhoda. He was the oldest of the seven children. He died at the age of 65 on June 3rd, 1838 in Liverpool. His burial was on June 7th, 1838 in Liverpool.²

  Josiah is recorded as a Slate dealer at 4 Waterloo Road, Liverpool in the trade directories. John Roberts was also a Slate dealer at the same address, and Jane Powell at No.5 and Hugh Roberts and No.2.
  
  In 1824, Josiah and younger brother Richard were both in the Liverpool Trade Directory. Josiah was a slate merchant at 7 Waterloo Road.
  
  In 1835, "Joseph Timms" was a Slate Dealer at Waterloo Road.
