WARNING: This is not the Josiah Timmis (1767-1848), farmer, who married Anne Berks. There is another Josiah (1757-1825), a gentleman farmer who married Hannah Wilson, and later Elizabeth Hodgkinson (1756-1825) and had Elizabeth b.1796, Charles (who emigrated to the US) and a child that died.
Josiah is recorded as a Slate dealer at 4 Waterloo Road, Liverpool in the trade directories. John Roberts was also a Slate dealer at the same address, and Jane Powell at No.5 and Hugh Roberts and No.2.
In 1824, Josiah and younger brother Richard were both in the Liverpool Trade Directory. Josiah was a slate merchant at 7 Waterloo Road.
In 1835, "Joseph Timms" was a Slate Dealer at Waterloo Road.
