Leslie's father was John Ambrose Thomas and his mother was Margaret Eleanor Jones. He had two brothers and two sisters, named John, William, (Ann) and Ellen.  He was the third oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Albert and Lillian.  He died at the age of 5 in December 1904 in Birkenhead.²

  Leslie was missing from the 1911 census, so probably died young.
