John was born on March 21st, 1897 in Birkenhead.1  John's father was John Ambrose Thomas and his mother was Margaret Eleanor Jones. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Leslie, William, (Ann) and Ellen.  He was the second oldest of the five children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Albert and Lillian.  He died as a war casualty at the age of 43 on March 13th, 1941 in Bebington.  He was buried in March 1941 at the Bebington Cemetery.2 3

‌John and Flo were married in a religious ceremony on August 28th, 1925 at Brunswick Methodist (Birkenhead). They had two sons named John and Les.  There are no more children.
