Jane Stocks Shaw

Jane was born on August 15th, 1827 in Lockwood and her baptism took place on October 14th, 1827 in Almondbury conducted by Lewis Jones.¹²

Jane's father was William Shaw and her mother was Martha Stocks. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Stocks and Sally (Sarah) Brook. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Thomas, John, Sarah Ann and Emily. She was the oldest of the six children.

- Jane was still with her parents at Lockwood in 1851 (aged 23) and 1861 (aged 33).
  
  In 1865, Jane Stocks Shaw married John Petrie at Rochdale. Even though aged 37, she had a daughter Emily Shaw Barlow in 1867.
