Martha was born in September 1854 in Manchester.¹

Birth Notes

Martha's father was Stephen Settle and her mother was Jane Howe. Her paternal grandparents were Abraham Settle and Alice Mather. She had five brothers named William, Joseph, Stephen, Stephen and John. She was the third youngest of the six known children. She died at the age of 4 in December 1858 in Manchester.¹
