Jane was born on July 12th, 1846 in Tattenhall.1  Jane's father was James Richards and her mother was Mary Timmis.  Her maternal grandparents were Ann Timmis and John Tushingham. She had a brother and two sisters, named Joseph, Ann and Sarah.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 71 in 1917.
