Sarah was born on September 29th, 1778 in Greenhill & Helwick and her baptism took place on October 25th, 1778 at All Saints (Bingley).¹

Sarah's father was Thomas Pickles and her mother was Mary Walsh.  Her maternal grandparents were Robert Walsh and Mary Bear. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Joseph, John, Thomas, William, Michael, Isabel, Matty and Mary.  She was the second oldest of the nine children.  She died at the age of 20 in August 1799 in Height.  She was buried on August 5th, 1799 at All Saints (Bingley).²
