Paul was born in 1740 in Tilston, St Mary and his christening took place there on January 27th, 1740.1  Paul's father was Charles Phythian and his mother was Anne Falconer. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Charles, Thomas, Charles, Charles, Thomas, Mary, Anne, Jane and Margaret.  He was the third oldest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 33 in 1773 in Shocklach.2
