Henry's father was James Pendlebury and his mother was Hannah Yates. He had a brother and a sister, named James and Mary.  He was the second oldest of the three children. He had five half-brothers named Albert, John, Israel, David and Fred.  He died at the age of 44 on April 6th, 1901 in Bolton.²
