James' father was John Oliverson and his mother was Esther Baron. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Christopher, Barry, Robert, John, Isabella and Nanny.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 87 on February 28th, 1911 in Idaho (ID).²
