Hannah's father was Miles Nightingale and her mother was Hannah Smith.  Her paternal grandparents were Humphrey Nightingale and Alice Nightingale. She had three brothers named James, Miles and Daniel.  She was the second youngest of the four children. She had a half-brother named Peter.
