Elizabeth's father was George Mullock and her mother was Louisa Lucas. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Mullock and Mary Deane. She had four brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, George, Frederick, Joseph, Mary, Eliza, Annie and Sarah. She was the fourth oldest of the nine children.
