Peter's father was Edward Millington and his mother was Ann Davies.  His paternal grandparents were John Millington and Susannah Bannion. He had three brothers and three sisters, named John, Samuel, William, Ann, Susannah and Catherine.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 81 in January 1868 in Widnes.

‌Peter and Ann were married in a religious ceremony on November 19th, 1821 in Runcorn.³
