Minnie was born in 1903 in Connah's Quay.1  Minnie's father was Albert Millington and her mother was Minnie Gertrude Povall.  Her paternal grandparents were John Millington and Hannah Piercy. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Elsie and Ada.  She was the second youngest of the four known children.  She died at the age of 90 in 1993.

‌Minnie and Joseph were married in a religious ceremony in June 1927 in Holywell.2   They had two sons named Joseph and Geoff.  There are no more children.
