Thomas Mather

Thomas was born in 1821 in Bolton.¹

Thomas' father was James Mather and his mother was Jane Patterson. His paternal grandparents were James Mather and Sally Smethurst. He had a sister named Elizabeth. He was the younger of the two children.

- Thomas is the son of James, a soldier, and Jane.
  
  In 1851, Thomas (30, born Bolton), a Joiner was visiting his sister Elizabeth Stephenson at 32 Haigh Street, Everton.
  
  25 Jan 1853, Thomas Mather a Joiner, son of James Mather, a soldier married Margaret Smith, daughter of Hugh Smith at St Peter's, Liverpool. Both were living at Christian Street.
  
  In the 1850s. Thomas and Margaret lived at 49 Christian Street, Liverpool, Thomas a Joiner.
  
  In 1861, Thomas a dock labourer and Margaret (40 & 34) were at 78 Christian Street with son George (15) and Ann 5.
  
  In 1871, Thomas (50, Wid) was still with his sister in Dale Street, Liverpool, but now only with daughter Ann (14).
