Elizabeth was born in Wigan, the 4th daughter of James and Jane his wife. She lived in Liverpool after she was married. There is no evidence to suggest she is related.
In 1833, when Charles married Elizabeth he was living in the parish of Farnworth and Elizabeth in Bolton. She probably had a brother Thomas born Bolton about 1821 (who was with her in 1851)
In 1841, Charles (a Joiner) and Elizabeth Stephenson (both 30) had Jane and Ann (5 & 1). Isaac and John Stephenson (20 & 15) were probable brothers.
In 1851, Charles A Stephenson and Elizabeth (43 & 40) were in Everton, Liverpool with Jane, Ann, John and Charles (14, 10, 8 & 6). Thomas Mather (30, Joiner, b.Bolton) was visiting.
