Elizabeth Mather

Elizabeth was born in 1811 in Wigan.¹

Elizabeth's father was James Mather and her mother was Jane Patterson. Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Sally Smethurst. She had a brother named Thomas. She was the older of the two children. She died at the age of 64 in January 1875 in Liverpool. Her burial was on January 7th, 1875 in Liverpool.²

General Notes
- Elizabeth was born in Wigan, the 4th daughter of James and Jane his wife. She lived in Liverpool after she was married. There is no evidence to suggest she is related.
  
  In 1833, when Charles married Elizabeth he was living in the parish of Farnworth and Elizabeth in Bolton. She probably had a brother Thomas born Bolton about 1821 (who was with her in 1851)
  
  In 1841, Charles (a Joiner) and Elizabeth Stephenson (both 30) had Jane and Ann (5 & 1). Isaac and John Stephenson (20 & 15) were probable brothers.
  
  In 1851, Charles A Stephenson and Elizabeth (43 & 40) were in Everton, Liverpool with Jane, Ann, John and Charles (14, 10, 8 & 6). Thomas Mather (30, Joiner, b.Bolton) was visiting.
