Samuel Mather

Samuel was born in 1823 in Warrington and his baptism took place there on October 26th, 1823.¹

Samuel's father was Peter Mather and his mother was Margaret Moors. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, Peter, James and Ann. He was the third oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 34 in November 1857 in Warrington. His burial was on November 20th, 1857 in Warrington.²

- In 1843, Samuel Mather son of Peter and Margaret married Martha Stanley (Stanway) at Grappenhall, St Wilfrid, Warrington.
  
  In 1841, there was a Samuel Mather (17) at Padgate, Rixton living with likely parents and farmers John and Mary (both 40) and several other siblings. Therefore the Samuel at Rixton in 1851 is likely the wrong person.
  
  11 Oct 1841 Samuel Mather, minor, a soap boiler of Parr, son of Peter a farrier married Sarah Goulding at St Luke (formerly St Wilfrid), Farnworth (Widnes), Lancashire. (Brother Peter's 1840 marriage also shows his father Peter a Farrier, and Peter a Soap Cutter)
  
  In 1851, Samuel (27) was a File Cuter in Rixton, Warrington married to Martha Stanway (32) with Jane (6), John (4) and James (3) (MMN confirmed on GRO records).
  
  Samuel died aged 34 and is buried at Christ Church Graveyard, Padgate, Warrington.
