Rosy was born in 1771 in Ringley and her baptism took place on January 14th, 1771 at St. Saviour (Ringley).1  Rosy's father was John Mather and her mother was Eunice Ashton. She had two brothers named Thomas and Samuel.  She was the oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named John, Smalshaw  and Rosamond.  She died at the age of 5 on July 8th, 1776 in Ringley.1
