Mary was born on December 13th, 1863 in Blackburn.1  Mary's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Jane Bamber. She had a brother and a sister, named Thomas and Ellen.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died at the age of 73 on May 28th, 1937 in California (CA).

‌Mary and John were married in a religious ceremony on July 1st, 1883 at St. Peter (Blackburn).2   They had a son and two daughters, named Arthur, Nelly and Jane.  The family line is yet to be completed.
