Mary was born on September 17th, 1869 in Bury and her baptism took place on October 17th, 1869 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Bury).¹²

Birth Notes

Mary's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Alice Taylor. Her paternal grandparents were William Mather and Mary Warburton. She had three brothers and three sisters, named William, John, James, Mary, Hannah and Elizabeth. She was the third youngest of the seven children.
