Mary Mather

Mary was born in 1794 in Clifton and her baptism took place on December 14th, 1794 in Prestwich.¹

Mary's father was James Mather and her mother was Sally Smethurst.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Sarah Watson. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, James, Catherine and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the five children.  She died at the age of 7 in March 1801 in Kearsley.  She was buried on April 3rd, 1801 at St. Saviour (Ringley).²
