Margery was born on December 3rd, 1872.  Margery's father was Edmund (Edwin) Mather and her mother was Betsy Wood.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Sarah Butterworth. She had two brothers and a sister, named James, Percy and Annie.  She was the second oldest of the four children.  She died at the age of 1 in January 1874 in Bury.1
