Joshua's father was Joshua Mather and his mother was Margaret Fielden. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Thomas, Joshua, John, Mary, Sarah, Hannah, Margaret and Betty.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died in July 1772 in Bamber Bridge.  He was buried on July 26th, 1772 in Bamber Bridge.^1 1
