He was disabled and never worked). However, this is John's sister's family who married James Bowen in 1867.
In 1891, John and Alice J (46 & 39) were still at 161 Chorley Old Road with his sister's family neighbours at 159.
In 1901 the two families were at 399 and 397 Chorley Old Road. The houses had been renumbered (i.e. they had not moved).
