Jane was born in July 1793 in Billinge and her baptism took place on July 7th, 1793 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1  Jane's father was John Mather and her mother was Betty Baxter.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Ann Berrington. She had a brother and a sister, named Richard and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the three known children.  She died at the age of 40 in October 1833 in Billinge.  She was buried on October 9th, 1833 at St. Aidan (Billinge).1

‌Jane and Henry were married in a religious ceremony on May 19th, 1817 at All Saints (Wigan).1   They had a son and two daughters, named Thomas, Elizabeth and Jane.  There are possibly more children.
