Jane's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Margaret Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were James Mather and Jane Patterson. She had a brother and two sisters, named George, Ann and Ann.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died at 3 months old in July 1859 in Liverpool.  She was buried on July 21st, 1859 in Liverpool.²
