Isabella was born on September 9th, 1776 in Atherton and her baptism took place on November 5th, 1776 in Chowbent.1  Isabella's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Mary Mather. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Henry, Thomas, John, Batrix, Magdalen, Ann and Jane.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
