Henry was born in February 1772 in Liverpool and his baptism took place on March 4th, 1772 at St. Nicholas (L'pool). Henry's father was Richard Mather and his mother was Ann (Nancy) Tyrer. He had four brothers and five sisters, named John, Richard, Thomas, Henry, Betty, Ann, Sarah, Hannah and Hannah.  He was the second oldest of the ten children.  He died as an infant at the age of 1 in February 1773 in Liverpool.  He was buried on February 15th, 1773 at St. Nicholas (L'pool).1
