George was born in June 1866 in Mold.1  George's father was George Mather and his mother was Sarah Aston. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Margaret, Thomas, James, Sarah and Sarah. He had an adopted brother and two adopted sisters, named Alfred, Mary and Agnes.
