Frank was born in 1901 in Atherton.1  Frank's father was William Mather and his mother was Ann Lee.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Mather and Jane Johnson. He had two brothers and a sister, named John, Thomas and Annie.  He was the youngest of the four children.
