Esther, known as Esther, was born in 1693 in Over Hulton and her baptism took place on August 21st, 1693 at St. Mary (Deane).1  Esther's father was Johannis (John) Mather and her mother was <unknown>.  Her paternal grandparents were Johannis (John) Mather and Elizabeth Mather. She had a brother and five sisters, named John, Elizabetha, Anna, Margaretha, Isabella and Maria.  Esther and Elizabetha were twins.
