Elizabeth, known as Betty, was born on December 3rd, 1789 in Bolton and her baptism took place on March 6th, 1790 at Bank Street Unitarian.1  Betty's father was Thomas Mather and her mother was Hannah Platt. She had three brothers and a sister, named Luke, Peter, James and Ruth. She had four half-brothers named Anne, James, John and Thomas.  She died at the age of 7 in September 1797 in Bolton.  She was buried on October 1st, 1797 at St. Peter's (Bolton).2
