Betsy was born on March 29th, 1831 in Radcliffe and her baptism took place on April 21st, 1831 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).1  Betsy's father was James Mather and her mother was Ellen Bolton.  Her paternal grandparents were John Mather and Alice Mather. She had two brothers named John and William.  She was the youngest of the three known children.  She died at 10 months old in January 1832 in Radcliffe.  Her burial was on February 3rd, 1832 at St. Mary (Radcliffe).2
