Annie was born in 1907 in Bolton.1  Annie's father was Richard Mather and her mother was Jane Hannah Russell.  Her paternal grandparents were Wright Mather and Margaret Barker. She had a brother named Richard.  She was the older of the two children. She had three half-sisters named Harriet, Hannah and Adaline.
