Ann was born in 1898 in Atherton.1  Ann's father was William Mather and her mother was Ann Caldwell.  Her paternal grandparents were Edward Mather and Betsy Morris. She had six brothers and a sister, named James, Charles, John, William, Thomas, Frederick and Alice.  She was the third youngest of the eight children.
