Alice's father was William Mather and her mother was Sarah Horrocks.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Mather and Ellen Rigby. She had a brother named George.  She was the older of the two children. She had two half-sisters named Alice and Ann.  She died at the age of 1 in September 1846 in Bolton.  She was buried on October 1st, 1846 in Bolton.^2 3
