Alice's father was Henry Mather and her mother was Margret Pimley. Her paternal grandparents were Adam Mather and Alice Mather. She had a brother and a sister, named Ralph and Mary. She was the second oldest of the three children. She had two half-brothers named Henry and Thomas.
