Charlotte was born in September 1834 in Bolton and her baptism took place on September 14th, 1834 at St. Peter's (Bolton).1 2  Charlotte's father was John Lever and her mother was Betty Mather. She had two brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Sarah and Mary.  She was the second youngest of the five known children.
