Albert was born on October 14th, 1875 in Elton and his baptism took place on November 12th, 1875 at All Saints (Elton).¹²

Albert's father was Joseph Jackson and his mother was Nancy Maria Mather. His maternal grandparents were Solomon Mather and Jane Scowcroft. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Samuel, James, Clara and Annie. He was the second youngest of the five children.
