Grace was born in September 1740 in Lower Darwen and her baptism took place on September 24th, 1740 at St. Mary-the-Virgin (Blackburn).¹

Birth Notes

Grace's father was Gyles Howarth and her mother was Alice Pomfret. Her paternal grandparents were Giles Howarth and Mary Yates. She had a sister named Mary. She was the younger of the two children. She had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Richard, Henry, Margaret and Mary.
