Thomas' father was Ralph Holt and his mother was Mary Taylor. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Ralph, John, James, William, Jane, Betty and Mary.  He was the third youngest of the eight known children.  He died at the age of 74 in 1806 in Turton.² 

‌Thomas and Rebekah were married in a religious ceremony on April 10th, 1765 at St. Peter's (Bolton).⁴   There are no children.
