Ralph's father was Ralph Holt and his mother was Mary Taylor. He had four brothers and three sisters, named John, James, Thomas, William, Jane, Betty and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the eight known children.  He died at 9 months old in July 1728 in Turton.  He was buried on August 1st, 1728 at St. Anne (Turton).²
