Jane was born in 1825 in Dunscar (fold) and her baptism took place on August 28th, 1825.¹

Jane's father was William Holt and her mother was Jane Marsh.  Her paternal grandparents were George Holt and Betty Bentley. She had two brothers named James and Thomas.  She was the second oldest of the three children. She had a half-sister named Hannah.  She died at the age of 16 on December 30th, 1841 in Turton.  She was buried on January 2nd, 1842 at Christ Church, Walmsley.²
