George Holt

George was born on November 18th, 1764 in Entwistle and his baptism took place on November 18th, 1764 at Turton Chapel.¹

  Note: There was another George Holt, son of James and Ellen of Bradshaw born 1770, baptised at Turton Chapel but he would be 5y too young if died aged 50.

He died at the age of 50 on November 6th, 1815 in Turton. His burial was on November 9th, 1815 at St. Anne (Turton).²

- George was the son of William and Margaret Holt of Entwistle, born November 1764. After Nelly, he named the next two after his parents.
  
  1789, George Holt, a weaver (of Entwistle), married Betty Bentley (of Edgworth) at St Peter’s, Bolton. They had 11 children.
  
  Births for son William and before 1790 are at Entwistle. After that it is simply Turton.
