William was born in March 1908 in Bolton.1  William's father was William Glazebrook and his mother was Elizabeth Ann Horrocks.  His paternal grandparents were William Glazebrook and Mary Ellen Heaton; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Horrocks and Jane Dewhurst. He had a brother and five sisters, named Arthur, Doris, Edith, Mary, Edna and Annie.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 62 in 1970.
