Thomas' father was John Eddowes and his mother was Mary Brown. His paternal grandparents were Mr John Eddowes and Elizabeth Taylor. He had a brother named John. He was the younger of the two known children. He died at the age of 79 on March 7th, 1883 in Birkenhead. His burial was on March 10th, 1887 in Liverpool.³⁴

  The Will and Codicil of Thomas Stanton Eddowes late of Clifton Park, Tranmere in the County of Chester Esquire who died 7 March 1833 at Tranmere was proved at Chester by Stanton Eddowes of West Kirby near Birkenhead in the said county Merchant the Son and John Eddowes Willett of 71 Hoghton-street Southport in the county of Lancaster Salesman the Executors.
