Emma was born in March 1844 in Wrexham.1  Emma's father was Ralph Eddowes and her mother was Jane Davies.  Her paternal grandparents were Ralph Eddowes and Abigail Blythen. She had two brothers and five sisters, named Thomas, Ralph, Harriett, Caroline, Ellen, Elizabeth and Jane.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 2 in September 1846 in Wrexham.1
