Eva's father was John Henry Dittmer and her mother was Elizabeth Maud Cunningham.  Her paternal grandparents were Louis Dettmer and <female> Dettmer; her maternal grandparents were John Cunningham and Bridget Martin. She had four brothers named Sidney, William, Leonard and Albert.  She was the second youngest of the five children.  She died at 3 months old in March 1885 in Liverpool.²
