Albert was born in September 1888 in West Derby.1  Albert's father was John Henry Dittmer and his mother was Elizabeth Maud Cunningham.  His paternal grandparents were Louis Dettmer and <female> Dettmer; his maternal grandparents were John Cunningham and Bridget Martin. He had three brothers and a sister, named Sidney, William, Leonard and Eva.  He was the youngest of the five children.  He died as an infant in September 1888 in West Derby.1
