In 1812, Samuel married Jane Jones at Hawarden.
In 1813, Samuel was a labourer at Broad Lane, Hawarden.
In 1815 - 1822, when Thomas, John and Rachel were baptised, the family were living at Broughton Lodge. Later records show whey were living at Broadlane Township.
In 1841, Samuel and Jane (both 50) were at Broadlane Town, Hawarden with John (25), Rachel (20), Samuel (15), (George (12), Jane (10), William (8), Elizabeth (5).
In 1851, Rachel (28), Jane (21) and William (19) were still with their parents at Broadlane, Hawarden
